Tricks for Phone Addicts

Preface: I’m sure other phones have this feature but I’m posting instructions for iPhones. I am already technologically impaired and could barely figure it out on my phone.

Ok fine I didn’t figure it out, Ryan did. I’m still taking credit for it.

Ryan and I have a phone addiction. Don’t judge, you know you have one too.

Anyways, we have been trying to overcome it and found an AMAZING hack. I’m not sure why it’s so annoying but it works and there’s even a shortcut to make your life easier. AND being the nice person that I am, I am going to save you from yourself. Just remember to turn it back to normal to read my next blog post.

Grayscale

It’s a setting you can turn your phone to that removes ALL color. It’s so simple and yet so annoying. You can even create a little shortcut where you click your home button 3 times and it will automatically switch it for you. Neat right? Anytime I am supposed to be studying and I get distracted by my logic grid game- i'm super cool I know- I just triple click that button and lose all desire to look at my screen.

Luckily for you, I have decided to share my discovery via screenshots. You are welcome.

First unlock your phone. I really just included this step to brag about my sloth lock screen and because Ryan hates it.

Go to settings

Select General

Select Accessibility

Go to Display Accommodations

Open Color Filters

Turn on Color Filters

Select Grayscale

After you've discovered this amazing trick, you can create a shortcut for when you're really on a phone bender! Go to Settings.

Select General

Select Accessibility

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and Click Accessibility Shortcut

Select Color Filters and you are done!

Now you can turn it gray with 3 clicks of your home button. AND fun fact, your phone will still screenshot in color.

Now go forth and be productive!
